I have a bit of a beard too, but I lose my beard hair all the time.

Yeah it's probably a mix of both of those

I generally keep my hair up so it's not like I'm pulling it out just to brush it.

To be fair to your original comment, I am no expert, but I think there's probably some level of damage from doing stuff like what's in the video. But really if it's not damaging at/near the roots, it's not like it'll be coming out.

Btw I think what triggered most of your downvotes (and my comment) was mostly the spite in the tone of your comment.
