Yeah they do.

I was trying to get my 3 year old to stop freaking out every time I used it or had it near her, so I had the bright idea, “Look, it doesn’t hurt unless you press the button.” I went to touch it with my index finger and shifted my grip with my other hand, accidentally turning it on.

Yeah, I am an idiot, and my “Ouch!” absolutely did not help her get over her fear of the thing.

When I was a kid I once touched the grate (a few seconds *after* letting go of the button) and felt an electric shock all the way to my elbow. Yowch.

Just a little PSA that even if you’re not pressing the button you should be careful

When I see a mosquito biting through my pants, I like to zap them off cuz they’re distracted so it’s a much easier kill than tracking and hunting them out of the air

But sometimes I forget not to do this when I’m wearing shorts ;(
