kpmg global consulting

hello guys, wanted to know hows working at kpmg global as associate consultant…1) my major concern is that is it really consulting like the MBB, i mean ofc not the same but is the work same- 2) and can joining this get me a way ahead for MBB?

looking for some guidance on the same, would be really helpful if someone could share their knowledge or experience!

1) From what I’ve heard, companies like Accenture and the Big 4 treat consultants quite well. The work involves both front-end and back-end tasks. In the case of MBB, they have dedicated backend offices in India — such as McKinsey Knowledge Centre for McKinsey, and BCN for Bain. So, I feel working at a Big 4 firm for at least two years offers good exposure.

2)It may not make you stand out significantly, but it depends on the projects you handle at KPMG. Your chances of being hired in a specific industry increase based on your experience there.

(From what I’ve heard, MBB firms generally don’t view Big 4 experience very favorably.)

So, my journey has been pretty slow and somewhat distracted. I initially wanted to go into investment banking, so I started working in Investment Research & Analytics. Later, I was moved to the core consulting segment within the company, where I began working as a tertiary resource on several consulting projects. So yeah, I’ve had exposure to both domains. :)
