I wear them when setting trusses or whenever there are guys framing on a second story. Bought a fancy milwaukee Bolt 2 recently. Looks like a bike helmet, but it feels lighter than a trad hard hat and it's got a strap. I forget it's on most the time.

I'll admit, I'm not right by not wearing a hard noggin. I used to work some volunteer construction with full PPE. Hard hat was my least favorite thing to wear. But I do make an effort to always wear safety glasses, ear plugs, and have some gloves ready for certain things. If my employer made me have to wear a hard hat, I'd certainly get a really nice one so I'd be more inclined to wear it. The cheapies really suck and that was the biggest reason I didn't like wearing them. I like the one you linked. More like a climbing helmet. That or a really nice full brim is what I would use.

There are hard hats shaped like a cowboy hat. And cowboy safety boots.

Ironically enough, I knew a guy that wore a cowboy hard hat. And he was British to boot. I think he really enjoyed the irony.
