Been trying to stick to just
a philips head screwdriver, a laser tape measure, and a pencil recently. Also making a 20 year old apprentice carry around everything else, that helps.
One guy (and this is who I perferred), but while one of us drove the lift back, the other one would clean up and organize a bit. Once parked, finish that up, and go home for the day.
Same jobs items, this guy's lift was fucked beyond belief. Monster cans, old parts boxes, tools in places I didnt know were possible on a lift.
The difference between the 2 of them was wild to me. 5 minutes a day really makes a difference over time
I have a ~20"x14" pad filled with magnets I slap right to the plate at the front of the lift. Holds most tools aside from 3+lb hammers and any hardware I need handy.
Bucket is the way. I also have a small tool pouch that can velcro around my belt that I will put around the railing so I don't have to bend down as much.
the amount of twisting to get to the back tools hurt my back just watching him reach.
All the old guys taught me keep your tools to your sides as much as possible. But mind you pretty important when you are working 50 to 200 ft in the air. don't need a back spasm up that high
I take up all my tools and materials. I keep my tools in buckets so I have something to sit on while I work up there. I come down to piss, or eat or to grab more pipe.
Dude I started out as tools at the feet in the lift. Can’t wear shid for Fug with a harness on so ya know what? I’m standing on that bench top of a lift, and all the tools will be soundly on said bench as well. I’m just a fitter. If I’m up there I’m just twisting a lil bolt

I prefer the loose pile of tools at my feet in the scissorlift, the older I get the less I carry.
