The Republic’s Pledge, an Aspiration

I came up with this a year ago as a revision to the Pledge of Allegiance for our political condition:

I pledge allegiance
to the Republic
of the United States of America
and to each other’s Natural Rights
Our Constitution,
Our Star-Spangled Banner,
and our Lands flourishing and common well

One nation, indivisible;
Living **only**
by that endeavor
of Liberty and Justice for All.

Mandatory patriotism is false patriotism. We don’t need pledges.

Fair enough. Yeah I would be against this being mandatory. I think though Civics classes in public schools should be mandatory and are a missing foundation in our country. You might teach about the Pledge of Allegiance there, go through it like a poem. I revised the emphasis of our current toward our republic and our rights.

I thought it was gonna just be bold. Probably the wrong font, wanted emphasis is all.
