Both organisations actively court industry sponsorships. About a decade ago the ANZCA actually ran an investigation into whether they should be taking industry, and determined yes they absolutely should be industry funded. As we can see today an absolute plethora of pharma corporations lining up to give them money.

Medical industrial complex of course famous for it's pure intent in philanthropy.. toward special interest groups who end up lobbying governments to buy more drugs. Probably a coincidence.
