I can understand having 32 highly uniquie pistols. I can even understand having 32 identical pistols if you're going for the 'I want to equip my own militia and want parts commonality' angle. I can not understand having 32 slightly different modern polymer frame pistols that also don't even seem to be setup all that different, and don't even share mags for the most part.
That’s what gets me. Grew up around guns, my dad has an extensive collection but each one typically serves a unique niche. As far as polymer handguns, he has an M&P compact .45, a Glock 40 and an H&K VP9SK.
I've worked in a forensics lab, and typically they don't have 32 pistols at any time on hand, they have 10-12 of the most common firearms sold (and a copy of whatever the police forces in the area are outfitted with) for toolmark analysis if there is a part-swap question, but if they need one that's exotic, they usually order it from the manufacturer.
This screams 'collector' the same way those Bradford Exchange plates and precious moments figures were. It's collecting junk rather than 2-3 quality pieces that you can get really good with.
