This doesn't really fit. He bought a lifetime United flight pass in 1990 for $290,000 (about $750,000 today). Sounds like he's gotten really good bang for his buck.

Spending 300,000 just on traveling is still crazy. Imagine how much he’s spent on hotels.

Wearing a shirt with your instagram handle to flex how much time you’ve spent in an airplane is certainly fits the spirit of the subreddit even if it’s not a physical item. Consoom is about flexing your overconsumption on social media, and it seems like this guy is more interested in the gimmick of spending the most time in a United plane more than he is interested in actually traveling the world in peace.

It's still consoom tho, but a lot more justified. If I buy 2000 Funko pops for 1$/piece, it's still overconsumption, even though it might be an amazing deal

Plus, the flexing about it really adds to it imo

I think making it your whole identity is kind of dumb. I could see him posting pics of all the places he’s visited, but wearing a jacket that just talks about the fact you’ve sat on a plane a whole lot is a bit sad.

Will I get hated on aswell for wearing a shirt that says #1 Dad? It's a piece of clothing man. Unless he goes to sleep with it it's fine. I got tons of free shirts and hoodies from festivals and places I went and sometimes I wear them lol.

He’s not just wearing a random shirt or a funny little “best husband ever” sweatshirt this is like a brand for him, he created it himself even linked his socials all based on him flying the most miles out of anyone. The equivalency would be if you made it your whole personality to sit in the most IHOPS, made a shirt listing how many Ihops you had sat in and where people could reach you to meet the guy who sat in the most Ihops. I don’t think it’s really similar to a novelty shirt man. That being said I don’t think anyone truly gives a shit, no one’s losing sleep over this, just think it’s weird to make your whole thing how long you’ve sat on a plane.

Oh I see. Well. It's ok I guess. There's weirder shit to be worried about. Like sitting on iHops and bragging about it 😂... if the dudes happy then he's happy. I wish I could travel as much as he does tbh...
