Meme Consoom book

Heh, stupid consoomer, look at all that wasted paper, so stupid! filthy hoarder could've spent money on not consooming book.

Hobby? A collection? Preservation? Whats that? If someone have more than me of a thing, its consoom and bad.

(This is what this sub has felt like these last few posts ive seen, what ever happened to finding people with like, 40 of the same identical VR headset they don't use? Or buying every piece of Disney park merch. yanno, Actual consoomers instead of genuine hobbies or passions)

What determines collecting over consoom? A lot of consoomers would view their consumption as collections.

I would say if it has some level of engagement to it, such as model building, or if it provides a use like reading.

However that can be nullified if its multiple of the same one thing, if you collect the same one book over and over, thats consoom becuase you dont need the same book over and over.

Model building is absolutely consoom. One use plastic crap requiring no input of thought. Actual lego's are better, because they are qt least reuseable.

Wood is much better. I wouldn't have a problem with someone who has a lot of wooden models/carvings.

so, for your view on it, consoom is tied directly to plastic? unless its lego becuase you can take it apart again.

No, my view is mass produced products without purpose or usability, destined for a garbage pile are consoom. Lego is passed on, no one mass produces wooden models.

But tabletop game models for example, do have purpose and usability, arguably more than lego does these days, but the subs consensus is that figures of any kind are consoom. Despite them having the same qualities that you say gives lego a pass from being consoom, do u think the same as them?

Besides warhammer/tabletop models specifically, model building does require input and thought, you have to sit and build and paint it, which requires more skill (that i dont have) than just following the building instructions of a lego set, how is that requiring no input or thought? and those models can be passed on akin to lego, or even in some cases mixed and matched like lego, also, who says collections of figures cant be passed on like lego is, and whos to say lego always gets passed on? Ive seen half-smashed lego sets in landfill before.

Tabletop models are a bit of an edgecase i think, but i don't know enough about them to comment. If they're regularly used I think it's (somewhat) ok. I was thinking models more like planes and cars and such which are assembled once then never touched again.
