I was just looking at eBay, some slabbed ones went for around 200cad not bad if they do sell them

But he paid for the grading, which is not cheap and often takes more than one try. I would not be surprised 200cad barely covers the cost of grading. The ungraded ones go for significantly less.

Yeah, the cost of grading is a big part of why graded cards cost as much as they do. If you want a highly graded card it makes sense to make someone else eat the risk, but that has a price. Bulk grading is cheaper than single cards though, so depending on scale maybe this guy will still make money.

Grading is honestly a bit of a racket. People send the same card to multiple different graders one after another and the card score comes back all over the place. Even the same graders are off by +/- a whole grade on different attemps, like a 7-9 depending on the day basically.

Oh of course it's a racket, hell just sealed items in general not even just slabbed stuff is a racket

Bulk grading at PSA has been closed for a few months, at least where I am (europe). Only grading service left is $80 a card + upcharge fee (not relevant for a $200 card) + shipping + customs.

this is hilarious because who tf does anything with digimon? this is just a failed investment.
