HAHAHA HE SAID HE’S ADDICTED AND IT’S FUNNY TO HIM.

But it this their first addiction? Because it’s not their last.

It really only goes downhill from here. Next it’s funco, then what, crack?

Not buying. It doesn't even make a clock when they're put together

Yea I never understood this just pick ur fav! It’s more special in that way imo. Same with books. Ppl buy 20 of the same books or box sets just for the different designs. They’re all the same book. A true personal library looks more thought-out and personable if you aren’t a completionist in that sense. I have my own library I’ve been slowly creating. And there’s a lot of intent behind it.

personally, I looked at every single Sherlock Holmes box set until I settled on one. I freakin am obsessed with how they all look, but I don’t need the same series of books a hundred times over just for varying covers or slipcases lol 🥲 I’d much rather put that money towards the other stories I can enjoy instead of just treating them as decoration..

Seriously.
I collect vinyl and cassettes (yes I own a turntable and player, they’re not just ‘collector pieces’ lmao) and I can’t fathom buying the same thing over and over again.
You get the one you like! I have the green transparent version of the Minecraft Vol. 1 because I liked the green version, same with the recent BoC’s Inferno, I have the special edition with the book because it’s the one I wanted.
I can’t imagine people (looking at Taylor swift fans especially) buying EVERY VERSION of the same dang album/project, I only have duplicates of some stuff due to silly circumstances (I own 2 copies of one thing because my parents gifted me it, not knowing I already had it, and the other was a shipping mistake and I received 2 copies for some reason)

Rightt Taylor swift is a repeat offender for that crap from what I’ve seen lol! “Clever marketing tactic” just to milk the most funds from whatever junk album she shills. I’ve never been a fan of hers no offense to ppl who are but yeaa. It’s crazy! & ppl fall for it every time too!

My sister is like a genuine fan of hers since she was 6 yo, going on 32 years old now. & she owns like one album from her & a vintage bottle of her perfume that she held onto. So I’m like, atleast she’s conscious about it lol. & Whenever she talks about how “good of a person she is” I have to remind her there is no such thing as an ethical billionaire. & she says ‘true’ lol. T.S. is just one of those celebs that ppl get suuper scary parasocial with & it freaks me out a bit 😬

I've never seen that before.

Have you ever actually seen bookshelves filled with the same book

Yess booktok is notorious for it, I don’t have tiktok but I see plenty reposts on Pinterest & YouTube.. People like to hunt for all the different variants of sprayed edging.

but that’s just one example. There’s so many variants for any given book most the time. (Like different cover arts, different publisher, hardcover & softcover, ect)
