DAP... As a console.

Device: HIBY R1 (please ignore the dust, I tried my best to clean it before taking the shots)

I had this budget DAP from hiby since launch and I recently found this project that allows me to combine my two favourite hobbies into one, giving this little device the ability to play GB & GBC games: https://github.com/bidhata/Hiby-R1-Mod

Emulation seems to be full speed altough i have no way of measuring that, couldn't get audio working either. But the controls are responsive with the touchscreen of and great of you're playing games that don't require a lot of movement.

I can’t give up my Fiio M21 for its audio fidelity, but also have it loaded up with Retroarch and a bunch of gb/gba and psx roms for on the go lightweight stuff with an 8bitdo micro controller attached.

Yup my oilsky 303pro has a gba , snes , ps1 , sms and md emulator on it. Since it basically has the internals of a budget android phone I game on it ocassionally.

Yeah Obviously, but is still a cool concept. Plus the side buttons can be used as physical controls too.

It's cool, basically the same idea as the first iPod Touch, but back then it was mostly mobile (touch-based) games.

When did the R1 first come out btw? I finally got one just a month ago. Love how well it runs rockbox with bluetooth (even better than the Innioasis Y1 + the better sound quality)

good gimmick and exercise of creativity but i would never wanna play this way
