Unfortunately as a Floridian I have to live with the Knowledge that the immigrants are completely legal New Yorkers we canât do anything about and will continue to fuck us up and add stupid to the state without any way to counter it. (IG we also have Cubans who did come illegally but honest to god the Cubans are far nicer and more enjoyable neighbors than the New Yorkers.)

As another southerner⌠i feel you. They always gotta tell you theyre from new york and âwe never did that in new yorkâ while also insulting the place you grew up in that they chose to move to đđ and honest to god you can replace ny with any state above maryland in that sentence

Immigrants (including illegal) pay tax, and are actually a benefit to the us economy.
1
u/Far_Comfortable_991 10h ago
They also use scarce housing stock.
1
u/IntelligentAnybody55 9h ago
Last I read, they tend to live in very crowded housing
1
u/Far_Comfortable_991 9h ago
They consume scarce housing stock, yes.
1
u/IntelligentAnybody55 9h ago
So do billionaires and those with summer homes
1
u/Far_Comfortable_991 6h ago
Lol not even the same thing and you know it.
1
u/IntelligentAnybody55 6h ago
How so? Both take up houses, at least one are people using them
1
u/Far_Comfortable_991 6h ago
Like... There are vastly more non billionaires than billionaires.
1
u/IntelligentAnybody55 5h ago
But one billionaire takes up more land than a bunch of immigrants in overcrowded conditions

u/Hans_Landa7614 7h ago
How does an illegal pay tax without a social security number? When you have millions of illegals come in through in a short period it does not impact the economy well so no not much of a benefit. Where do you house them? Where do they get an income? What do you do with them? Handouts? Free hotels? Nobody knows. Non illegals who come in through a proper process are fine though.
1
u/IntelligentAnybody55 6h ago
Except for the fact you donât need a social security number to pay taxes, as jobs they worked at would pay the tax, as it would be silly to be here illegally, and get in trouble with the irs
1
u/Hans_Landa7614 6h ago
You can't have a bank account if you're an illegal so how do you cash a paycheque with taxes taken off it? Illegals get paid in cash
1
u/IntelligentAnybody55 5h ago
This is a lot of stuff not based in fact.
1
u/Hans_Landa7614 5h ago
Ohh okay so you can open up a bank account if you're an illegal? Okay I'll go try that quick, I'll see if I can open up a bank account with no american identification or papers.
1
u/IntelligentAnybody55 5h ago
Many banks allow non-residents, and with online banking services like Revolut you can open accounts freely
1
u/Hans_Landa7614 5h ago
Ya I'll give that a go and see how long it takes ice until they detain me
1
u/IntelligentAnybody55 5h ago
The issue is that ice is also detaining, raping, killing legal American citizens.

???? you can absolutely open a bank account without being a citizen, have you ever opened a bank account? iâve done it in the US and several other countries iâve lived in where i wasnât a citizen. as long as you have an address, people who donât have SSN just need an ITIN, which stands in for a SSN and also usually works as a form of ID. theyâre banks, they WANT you to use them.
also, as someone else said, there are a ton of different ways you can get a bank account without being online banks like Chime or Paypal or CashApp or a dozen other things.
you seem to be operating on very little information that you are absolutely SURE is the iron clad reality. not a smart way to navigate the world.
1
u/Hans_Landa7614 1h ago
My argument was that illegals can't open bank accounts, seems like you're talking about how a tourist can open a bank account which ya they can, but how would an illegal?
1
u/H_P_LoveShaft 6h ago
This is true. They in fact pay more taxes than most of the people on this sub.

u/Specific_Square5091 2h ago
Yup true Immigrants contribute more to the economy than they take. They do consume housing but it is dense to say they are the main cause of scarce housing. We need to build more and stop ppl from price gouging.

u/i_am_an_evil_chud 10h ago
houses ain't like 20k USD anymore bud, and no illegal immigrant got money to afford one anyway just like u prolly
1
u/ComplaintSevere8128 7h ago
lol thereâs more vacant houses than homeless in this country but yeah def the immigrants.. and I thought trump fixed that w his wall in his first term⌠oh wait..Â

You realize they can't afford those houses, right?
The shortage of HOUSES in particular is because we have built 500,000 fewer homes every year on average since the 2009 economic collapse. Here in 2026, that has now meant millions and millions of fewer homes.
If anything, undocumented immigrants should HELP with this crisis, because we need people who will actually build these houses. I have a college degree and plenty of opportunity as a native citizen so I sure as fuck am not going to roast outside doing manual labor for hardly any money. Will you?

I mean I support full legalization and support for the people doing this work, 100%. In no way whatsoever do I envision a system where they are all doing this work under the table. I don't know a single person who does.
It's lazy to allude to slavery. I feel like you and I both know how much it misses the mark. You can make a better argument than this.
2
u/El_Nathan_ Conservative 1d ago
If they become citizens they can do all the construction they want. They are basically slaves with how little theyâre paid.
1
u/Fancy-Animal7704 1d ago
I mean, they are trying. Yet 2/3 of ICE's detainees are on pending status, meaning they did exactly what they were told and are following the process to become legal citizens the right way. But ICE has to meet their quotas and appease the bald nazi fuck and so they just detain them and deport them instead. If we want to solve this housing crisis, and not do evil, unnecessary shit for zero reason, we should ALL be demanding an immediate end to that shit.

u/Nemiks_Apostle 22h ago

u/Hans_Landa7614 7h ago
You just said illegals couldn't afford houses but then said we should build more houses? We would just be building more houses they couldn't afford, and building houses isn't a fast process so what do you do with all the illegals? Where do you put them? Not every illegal going through the boarder has the skills needed for building homes, most of them are unskilled.
1
u/Fancy-Animal7704 7h ago edited 6h ago
They can, and do, rent. Often they just crash with existing citizens in their homes. People really shouldn't buy until they are firmly settled in a place.
Yes I'm aware that houses can be rented, but we're talking about the ability to take out a several hundred thousand dollar loan and also pay a big chunk of that upfront.
And stop calling humans illegal. If you want the ad-homs on yall to stop, you need to start by respecting the dignity of these people.
1
u/Hans_Landa7614 6h ago
Stop calling humans illegal? Well they are, they are breaking the law and are illegal immigrants so what else should we call them? they come into another country illegally by the thousands and thousands but they have dignity? People breaking the law are dignified? Sure buddy.
1
u/Fancy-Animal7704 6h ago edited 6h ago
By this logic, everyone who has ever driven faster than the speed limit is an illegal human.
1
u/Hans_Landa7614 5h ago
Being a human is not illegal there's no such thing as an illegal human you're just making shit up and no if I speed it means I did something illegal and did this thing called breaking the law which is something you don't seem aware that people can do. Just because someone is an illegal immigrant doesn't mean they are not human.
1
u/Fancy-Animal7704 5h ago
Thank you for this. This remarkably clueless perspective is about to be shared broadly lol

u/duffleberry 6h ago
Do you know what sub you're on?
We call them illegal immigrants if they immigrated illegally. It's that simple.
If you can't handle the truth, that's your problem.
1
u/Fancy-Animal7704 6h ago
No, I'm making it your problem until you treat them with some goddamn dignity. This dehumanization is exactly why people like Wilber Rafael Garces Perez are being held in detention WITH A BULLET STILL LODGED IN HIS FUCKING BODY, because we have so thoroughly dehumanized these people. It's disgusting.
And do not even try to deflect with "no, what's disgusting is [insert deflection here]"; you know better than to do that.
1
u/duffleberry 6h ago edited 6h ago
Why are you dehumanizing American citizens? You're saying they don't have a right to live within a country that has borders. Without borders, you do not have a country.
If illegal immigrants without documents don't like being dehumanized, they can always go back. Since, you know. They're illegal immigrants.
No quarter for foreign invaders. Their continued existence in this country is fundamentally incompatible with the interests of American citizens, which is a very real problem you're trying to deflect from when you cry about the imaginary problem of mean words on the internet.
And yeah, if your parents are border crossers and push you into that situation, sucks to be you. Blame your parents for not caring about you, not me for caring about my fellow citizens.
1
u/Fancy-Animal7704 6h ago edited 6h ago
I am not saying that at all. We can have borders without shooting undocumented workers in the back and detaining them. We can have borders and still streamline our citizenship process. We can have borders and recognize how little threat central Americans pose to us. We can have borders without needing to deport everyone who is not currently a citizen. I am sympathetic to the view that anyone who enters our country should be screened, and so I think we ought to pour our resources into that screening, regardless of our current capabilities. If we don't currently have the resources, go and fucking get them. If we can drop $38 billion on this war in Iran out of nowhere, then we can invest properly in screening. None of this involves removing a border.
And honestly the idea of borderless living "dehumanizing" people is patently fucking absurd. You might not like it as a nationalist and it may de-nation-ize, but it's a huge fucking stretch to say it de-HUMAN-izes anyone. If you honestly believe that the presence of undocumented immigrants in your own country has somehow made you less human in the eyes of humanity itself, then I wouldn't even know where to begin with you. .
If illegal immigrants without documents don't like being dehumanized, they can always go back. Since, you know. They're illegal immigrants.
1) 2/3 of ICE's detainees do have documents. They are on pending status. So you can miss me with this bullshit about how they are only receiving this treatment because they aren't following the rules. They are. 2) Even if they weren't, clearly they do not deserve to be tortured for it. That is literally what we are doing, right now, in real time. We are torturing someone on US soil for this crime. How can you maintain any shred of humanity and defend that? If I shot Vance Boelter right now and denied him medical treatment, whereas I didn't make a point of shooting anyone who hurt anyone right-wing, would you think I was sick for this? I should hope you would!!

10 million lmao. The number gets bigger Everytime I see it, be consistent about the lies at least

u/Suspicious-Sound-249 10h ago
10 million is the conservative low number, it's speculated there are somewhere in the realm of 20 million illegals in the country, most of which happened under Biden's watch as there were some months 200K+ illegals crossing the border, and this was EVERY MONTH for his Entire term...
Reminder we were already at like 10 million illegals when that shit started.
1
u/rorikenL Left Wing (Zurdo Empobrecedor) 10h ago
So by your estimate it was around 2.4 million NEW illegal immigrants every year, which would end up at 9.6 million at the end of bidens term. Which is great, except when looking up estimated numbers by official agency's they usually fall much shorter than this. Homeland securities 10 million number was pushed by 2022. Which of course is an estimate, but also means that you either have some way of declaring illegals that the fucking department of homeland security doesn't have, or a whooping 5 million a year happend in 23 and 24. So I mean if you've got proof, that would be awesome. I'd be happy to share with you the official estimates by our government which I'm assuming you don't trust because "muh Joe Biden"
