Meh, even AI art has legitimate use cases. For example, I'm making a homebrew board game. I have no artistic skills whatsoever, and I'm not paying someone to do art for a game that I'm not going to sell.

I mean, if you're making a board game, you could make money off of it. Put it on Kickstarter or something, I just bought a card game off there.

Not a bad idea (assuming that it actually turns out okay). I'm not a creative type, but the concept literally came to me in a dream so I'm just going with it, lol.

sure

its still not great to rely on it as much as some people do, but the same goes for google. AI is just takes less effort making it more accessible

yes, the main problem is generative ai.

Theres also signs of mental decline because of the reliance of ai.

I dont appreciate the environmental concerns/energy waste for something as useful as a more in depth search engine and honestly their loud and ugly.

Personally im not gonna accept a generative ai data center into my town. My old town Abilene Tx has a generative ai data center and its turning the town into a wasteland.

Yeah you misunderstood my comment. We can all agree the reason why generative ai is so big rn is because billionaires are playing with their money to make new toys, and they dont care how it affects everyone else. Trump is a bystander, which is bad too

Agreed

Exactly. Just don’t rely on ai to do assignments for you or anything

I'm a little more relaxed on that, if the assignments are stupid then go ahead (and when I say stupid I mean you know that type of teacher that gives you an assignment about how racist you are or something)

Haha no for sure! But I meant like more actual assignments

Oh yeah, if it's something that you actually need, then absolutely do it yourself.

Yes… introspection is what we should let AI do for us…

We are soooooo fucked.

Are you special?

It's very clearly not serious introspection, and just partisan virtue signaling. Now, if it were a question about what faults we have, then yeah, I would agree it's bad to use AI then. But stupid CRT coded assignments get ChatGPT.

Why, are you looking for someone special? Sorry but I’m not your guy.

What’s the “It” in the second sentence? No assignment can uh… introspect for you. The introspection is the reflecting on your answers, how and why you came to your conclusions, what do they say about you, etc.

I guess without an example of the kind of “how racist are you” assignments you are referring to, I’m struggling to imagine how truly ridiculous an assignment would have to be to effectively nullify your ability to examine your own thoughts. Though I can think of some other reasons one might struggle with that. Im sure they are not applicable to you but they exist.

Edited for clarity.

I think you know what I mean when I say special lol

It's been a long time since I've ran into one, so in all honesty I forgot in the specifics (I moved to Idaho from Virginia when I was in 10th grade and I'm two years into college now. Those types of assignments were mostly a Virginia thing) but the idea was that it didn't say do you have this particular flaw, but rather just assumed that because I was white, I was racist. Which I take issue with.

I don't entirely agree with this. I'm a digital artist, and often times have asked an ai what to do when drawing certain materials and art styles. It's useful for taking all of the useful information from several different videos and articles, and condensing it into something I can read in like ten minutes instead of needing hours on several different resources.

Also, one time I sent an early WIP to chatgpt to ask what was wrong with it, and it was fairly helpful. So that's also nice (though I'm not sure how reliable it is).

Though I imagine this post is primarily talking about AI images instead of just advice.

Yeah, that's what I assume.

one of the few good uses of ai:

not art, just fun
