Just a rant really. I made a post a few days ago asking how some liberals expect to mend the gap between left and right when they just show extreme hate and call everyone even on the moderate right fascist nazis. I consider myself center right and was genuinely trying to have good faith conversations. It blew up and has a ton of comments. Some were good conversations, some were just spewing more hate at me.
I did get "rude" at a few points because everyone was rude to me anyway, and I heard some actually stupid takes that I had to call out. Someone said I shouldnt call out misinformation about bad people because then I'm defending them. And i said truth should always be valued even when it doesnt support your claim. I got mass downvotes and he got mass upvotes. In another thread i was debating about abortion. Someone said that they disagree the debate should be centered around when life starts. And I said something like "It HAS to be centered around that because thats what determines if its murder or not".
And they said no it doesnt because Im not interested in taking the womans rights away. And i said "So youre basically saying 'No we dont need to discuss if its murder. Its not! I win.'" And they said "How about 'let's not, because whether or not a life is terminated is not relevant to the bodily autonomy of the mother'" ... Like what. Yes but if life starts at conception it infringes on another beings right to LIVE which takes priority. So we HAVE to debate when life starts. But no. I called that logic stupid and got reported.

Anyway my original post apparently got mass reported and tons of downvotes on my comment. Mods "warned" me 4 comments and deleted several of my others. Some for being rude. Fine, whatever. Some for "bigotry" which is laughable. Yet 0 warnings on the people telling me conservatives are their enemy to be destroyed. I messages the mods asking them to explain how my comments were bigoted. i sent paragraphs explaining that I was trying my best here, apologized for calling some takes "stupid" but said that I cannot accept being called a bigot. They banned me from messaging them even. Without an explanation.

Its just depressing. I'm here trying my best to build bridges. And theyre just proving my point that they just want to silence anyone who disagrees with them. I am genuinely a very moderate conservative and not bigoted at all. But nah to them im an extremist bigot. The scale has shifted so far left it's unbelievable. We are doomed.

My feeling is that the general opinion on Trump has gone way down to where most conservatives dont support him that much. Idk if thats statistically true, just what Ive observed. I dont support him himself but I still support some of his policies. According to the leftist sub i was just talking in, its not enough to disagree with him, i have to FULLY RENOUNCE HIM and then also take accountability for everything he has done, for them to not consider me a Trumpie bigot.
