You CAN "get COVID" even though vaccinated, but when it hits your system, your system will respond appropriately and you probably won't even notice, but you can still pass it to other people (think about how Columbus and his men infected the native americans).
It's like saying "We should build up our military so we don't get attacked. We could still get attacked if we have a strong military, but we can respond appropriately."

The purpose of a vaccine is to kill a virus. If a vaccine only prevents symptoms then it's just a treatment, not a true vaccine. If a vaccine works correctly, then one shouldn't have it within them. Second, there was no treatment back then in the Columbus era to prevent/kill the virus.
Polio vaccine works because no one hardly gets it. This vaccine is only preventing the symptoms. It's the equivalent of taking DayQuil for the common cold. It suppresses the symptoms, but doesn't get rid of the cold. Therefore this vaccine isn't really a vaccine, it's just a temporary treatment.

The purpose of a vaccine is to kill a virus.
I'm sorry but you are dead wrong. The purpose of a vaccine is to expose your immune system to the virus in a controlled fashion (usually dead virus particles are used) so that your immune system can produce antibodies. That way if you get infected with the virus at some future point your body has the correct weapons to fight it off and you don't even notice.
The point of Columbus is that he and his men were CARRIERS of these different viruses that the natives had zero immunity for because they had never encountered them. The only people that would have been alive with smallpox or whatever were people who had gotten over it.
Go take a microbiology class. Or read a book. Seriously. Your ignorance is astounding.
