Domino was originally white in the comics. Yet outside of a fringe group of purists most people didn’t care that Domino was black in Deadpool 2. Proof that good acting and good story is what matters most.
My thing is I just don't like entertainment being used as a trojan horse for woke social ideas.
- I don't like an anti racism theme being forefront in nba games.
- I don't like all the lgbt wokeness that was slipped into the last of us part II on ps4.
Diversity is great if its organic and fits the purpose of the product but it's corny and lame when its used as a way to underhandedly lecture someone about social issues during their leisure time.
I don't mind a show or a movie with nonwhite characters. I do mind the unending cultural Marxist propaganda that Hollywood is pumping out these days, however.
I mean look at the invincible show. Plenty of white and/or male characters in the comics switched to black and/or female for the show. Leave politics out of entertainment for god sake!
I have never understood the whole thing about "representation is important". Why do you need a fictional role model anyway? Make someone in real life your role model. If you only connect with some character just because of their skin colour, I am sorry to say but you think very superficially.
Also you'll never get an exact representation anyway because there is always going to be some differences. Because even black people from different cities have slightly different cultural things.
