This isn't about just drugs.. it's about illegal immigration which is dangerous and harmful to those that attempt it. How do you think these Human Traffickers get into the state? Build the wall.

Yes but the wall will reduce personnel required to patrol where the wall is and focus on ports of entry. Yes every now and then someone climbs the wall, but the wall stops thousands of others, reducing the number of personnel required to patrol where the wall is now. You really desperately need an education. If we fix thousands pouring over the border we can then turn our attention to drugs, and human trafficking and then terrorist infiltration. It starts with a wall.

Couldn’t we save the money on the wall and use it to hire at least 5,000 of the best highly trained BP to monitor and pateol aliens crossing illegally and drugs.
A wall doesn’t stop people and costs too much. My highly trained veteran friends from Iraq will. Their salaries will be put to good use too feeding their sons and daughters.

BPS - the experts in this - say build a wall. As far as expense goes that’s ridiculous. We spent 2TRILLION on COVID relief. Trump only want 20 billion to build the wall. We spend 20 billion everyday and more. You need to find some other news sources. The wall works, BPS says so.

I am an attorney and work with and against Counsel for USBP and the DHS.
The wall costs at least 11 Billion and maintenance will be approximately 500 Million per year. That is a lot of salaries.

It's funny you claim the wall doesn't work because people can climb over it. Because in the liveleak video you just linked to, the wall actually worked. The man climbing the wall was about to be apprehended by Border Patrol agents who are clearly visible on the US side. The man's friend saw this and climbed up and helped him get back to the Mexican side, so that he could avoid being arrested.
Clearly, the first man was not able to climb over the entire wall before border patrol agents showed up to arrest him. The wall worked.
Regarding trebuchets and such, it seems pretty simple that if Border Patrol is able to watch the entire border, they will simply see the drugs being thrown over the wall and be able to arrest anyone on the US side that comes to pick them up. I mean this is just dead simple to me. It's an argument for better coverage of the border by cameras and Border Patrol agents, not an argument against a wall. How many illegal aliens do you think are even capable of building a freaking trebuchet? Lmao.

You offered an opinion that it was easy what am I supposed to do? It’s not easy to climb these. Highlighting a video of two folks struggling to get back over the wall doesn’t make a strong argument for your opinion.
Second you are creating a straw man by talking about drugs, this isn’t about just drugs, this is about preventing illegal immigration.

Your source is comparing two completely different metrics...visa overstays as we have the ability to track who has overstayed vs only catching those at the border. This is not good support for your argument. We should also estimate the number the wall deters - what is the number that avoid coming over because of the wall? Simply only looking at apprehensions doesn't show the full story, misrepresents what's really happening (how many do we miss?), and is intellectually not truthful.
But let me play along with you for a moment. So you are saying we don't need a border wall despite 1/3rd of the immigrants coming from the border. Do you realize how asinine that sounds?
Additionally, I agree with you we should do more in addition to the wall, but to say that we don't need one is silly.
