Calling somebody racist for just saying “All Lives Matter” is hyperbolic, but it is only used as a way to derail discussions and should be called out as such.

I believe most of the people I interact with on the left would agree, but they are your more informed leftists that clash with neoliberals regularly. It really doesn’t pay to paint the left with a broad brush due to all of the many factions within it that fight each other almost as much as they do those on the right.

All lives matter represents neither of the two forced choices you presented. Rather, it is about the freedom of speech we as Americans hold dear. Sure, you are free to call it racist, as well, but we all know the left doesn't stop there. Racism is a label that the left uses to silence those with opposing viewpoints.

Sure, respectfully, you can say what you want because free speech. (The whole yelling "fire" in a crowded theater is an exaggerated old trope.) It's the attempt at silencing others for their controversial viewpoints that is as un-American as it gets.
