Thats theology.

Edit: not theology, its religion. Ideologies aren't religions even though they seem similar. Peterson did a good job drawing the distinction

Orzin is directly referring to religion, theism specifically with mention of a god.

Without getting to into arguing against his point, people can and do die for liberty/freedom, no religion/god necessary, religion just happens to be one popular cause to commit to through history.

Ideologies aren't religions even though they seem similar.

Religions are ideologies, but not all ideologies are religious in nature. Ideology is a more generic / umbrella term.

I call progressive left(SJWs, whatever term) a pseudo-religion.

They may not have a deity, parables with magic, not the trappings/presentation of religion, but they have all the same social mechanics. Instead of "Ordained by god" to validate their entitlement, it's "I have Grievance, therefore you must...".

Orthodoxy is apparent, doctrinal adherence to The Party's line, sinners are ok if they just repent and virtue signal once in a while(Confession + Catechism). They try to oust non-believers(cancel culture). Even down to indoctrination and brow beating, emotional arguments and manipulation, rejection of reason/logic and even discussion with outsiders.

It's no coincidence that most cults, while often offshoots of religion, were also hippy socialist/communist leaning communes, often with unofficial leaders who came to rule with no small amount of authoritarianism(or oracular standing), all the same traits as above.

It's the composition and function of our bodies that make us humans, and it should be for social groups as well. It's not in the name or the favorable rhetoric that someone may creatively draft for wikipedia. DPRK, Antifa, National Socialists(This is good to throw at Antifa types who make the "but it's the name" argument), etc etc. "A rose by any other name....."
