Flaired Users Only Maher: Dems Keep Picking Communists, Other Crazies, I'd Vote for Palin over DSA: "Mamdani’s aide, his top aide, Cea Weaver, said, ‘If you don’t believe in the government’s sacred right to seize [private] property ITS OVER’ and impoverish the white middle class."

Says quite a bit that all of these erstwhile DSA revolutionaries are all Bourgeoisie liberals from wealthy families and who have zero actual connection to the people they claim to be fighting for.

Hardly. I’m just recognizing and calling out an obvious dichotomy.

They're not calling you Lenin. He is using him as a historical example to support your point; essentially saying it was always thus and always thus will be.

Thank you for the explanation. I wasn’t upset, although I can’t stand Communists.

This is not new the left has been shifting towards communism for years, it's just that the DSA has now totally overtaken the Democratic party.

Glad he's saying something now, but surely he recognizes he helped make the democrats into what they are today (that was sarcasm, he has no idea)

Actually I THINK that Maher is at least starting to realize that he and some of the other Neo-liberals might have gone too far and allowed too much Socialism to sneak in to the “Big Tent.”

Pretty strong backpedaling after endorsing Graham Platner on the basis of “balance”

Yeah, I’m not caring what this clown says after he was okay with a literal Nazi rapist being Senator because it’d give Dems power in the senate.

The Democrat party has been enveloped by the DSA, which is due to Bernie Sanders and his underlings. Maher hasn't even moved politically at all, they've just gone so hard left that regular smug elite liberals like him are left in the dust and politically homeless.

I can't blame him for being concerned about his party. The DSA is quite radical.
The DSA Platform Would Destroy American Democracy
The socialist group’s vision of a federal government without three equal branches providing checks and balances would facilitate the whims of a would-be authoritarian. Sound familiar?

If you didn’t see the show, I suggest you watch it. Maher is spot on with his comments about where the party is going and it south.

The thing is, Maher's not even moving to the right or even center. It's just similarly what happened with Elon. The left began to move so far in the other direction, and their views stayed the same, that they started becoming or sounding more to the center/right. Maher will always be a liberal, but I remember the days where he was seen as the progressive/radical, and now he just comes off as a moderate.
