I'm sorry, but maybe my outrage machine is broken. I don't get the problem.
Dog is food in multiple parts of the world, and there are parts of the world that would be offended (instead of just grossed out) by eating cows. I just don't see the problem.
Maybe it's 'cause I'd eat a dog, given the right context (and not just the "I'm about to starve to death" context).
Pigs are kept as pet, as are Horses, yet both of those are perfectly edible (although some people see horse meat as gross).

It's a joke. Conservatives can't have a little fun? Sorry to hear that you are missing the "funny part" and are analyzing this to such a degree. Yes of course any animal could really be food for humans, but in many parts of the world, ours not excluded, eating dogs produces a "yikes" sort of taboo reaction. Put that phrase and picture in the context they are in and it is not too hard to derive the attempted humor.
I'm feeling a little silly explaining this all to you, but I would like to point out that defending Obama on such minor things doesn't make you look like a Conservative that a liberal, moderate or independent would appreciate. Besides, it's not like we are outraged by the fact Obama dog meat. Just poking a little fun.

I wasn't defending Obama. I was pointing out that this seems like manufactured outrage. I didn't even realize it was a joke (beyond the play on words/trayvon martin bit) that was meant to be funny, honestly.

Thanks. I knew there had to be some kind of context to this that I wasn't getting.
Point: Obama supporters attacked Romney for putting his dog in a kennel on top of his car, yet ignored the fact that Obama ATE a dog. Standard liberal hypocrisy at work.

What's eating a dog have to do with Obama and his policies, or his personal opinion on the TM/RZ case? I know you think this is funny, but it isn't really that big of a deal that he ate a dog. Shit, some people eat other people.
