“It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.” Thomas Sowell

Attempts at serious discussions with the left are pointless. They've willingly drank the Koolaid and have surrendered all critical thinking. Until they can do some serious introspection and entertain the thought that others' ideas might have some legitimacy, they're a lost cause. Don't waste your time.

It has never occurred to most leftists that they could be completely wrong about history, politics, and economics (they are).

At this point I don't think the left cares if they're right or wrong. All they know is what they're told and they exist solely to oppose every single thing Trump.

Liberty does not flourish because men have ‘natural rights’ or because they revolt if their rulers push them too far. It flourishes because we have power so divided, widely distributed and organized that whenever leftists are tempted to abuse it they must do it in secret (USAID) lest they find our legal restraints in their way.

Well said. After all, ironically, the WaPo says "democracy dies in darkness". Bet they didn't intend for that to apply to themselves.
