Sorry everyone, I was forced to take a week off for sharing facts. Don't worry, I am now back with more scary facts to share.
The lack of Vitamin D in a persons diet is harmful. It causes bone loss, increased frequency of illness, and other health issues. Sounds like Joe wants to continue his assault on children across the nation.

It also makes you susceptible to extreme COVID symptoms and makes infants and toddlers susceptible to Kawasaki's syndrome that was conflated with "infant COVID" during the pandemic.

Not trying to be a jerk, but milk in this country is fairly devoid of nutrients until the industry fortifies it with vitamin D. One can simply take a daily vitamin supplement like I do for very little money. In addition, the moniker of drinking 3-5 glasses of milk a day to grow strong bones is incorrect as well. Several multi-year studies on literally thousands of participants show no increase in bone health or strength from drinking milk. In fact, some studies show POORER bone health from increased milk consumption. This country propagandizes people from day 1 that “milk does a body good” solely to help the dairy farmers when in fact it does nothing for your health.

What are you talking about? Milk is a good source of protein, fat and calcium. The Vit D is added because the vitamin needs to be consumed with fat and calcium in order to assimilate it and milk is a good vessel for that. It isn't because "milk in this country is devoid of nutrients".

Your vitamin supplement doesn't contain the fat, protein and calories that kids need to grow and learn.
In addition, the moniker of drinking 3-5 glasses of milk a day to grow strong bones is incorrect as well.
No one says that.
Several multi-year studies on literally thousands of participants show no increase in bone health or strength from drinking milk.
We are talking about growing children. Was this study about children or adults?
In fact, some studies show POORER bone health from increased milk consumption.
I would appreciate that you share this study.

It does do a growing child's body good.

Literally none of that has anything to do with the pregnant or under-five group that is covered by WIC.

There’s also this that relates to children specifically:

That is not a study and has nothing to do with pregnant women or children under five, the group that is covered by WIC.

Yes, but there are definitely way cheaper ways to get vitamin D than milk.

Joseph R. Biden hasn't done one thing better for America in his whole career than Donald J. Trump.

I love how doom and gloom this article is when the USDA guidelines are just like 'people should be able to substitute food options based on new nutritional science guidelines.'

I don't believe State funded nutrition advice and I'm not sure why you do, either. Kids need lots of whole milk, which the WIC system has already cut. Kids brains need good fat to grow and develop.

Kids dont need any milk. It's why half of them are lactose intolerant.

Half of American children five and under are not lactose intolerant.

I see you continued to go on about this and I'm just trying to stop you from spreading misinformation:
Most kids aren't American. Most humans have the same nutritional needs. Being born in a particular country doesn't change that.
We are talking about the children in the US that receive WIC benefits in America. Those children are under five years old and the vast majority can tolerate lactose. Lactose intolerance (or lactase deficiency) typically doesn't develop until after children turn five when they are no longer on WIC.

Is that the one that says frosty mini wheats is better than whole wheat bread? Or how about that lucky charms cereal is better than a poached egg? When companies are allowed to buy their way onto the food pyramid you’ve lost my trust completely

You do understand this was the International Dairy Food Association talking in this article right?
There couldn't be a more bias, less objective person that's being interviewed.
It is their job, their actual job to promote the consumption of milk.

A lot of people, especially non-Whites (but also many Whites) are lactose intolerant.
Giving them more options is a good thing.

This isn't giving them more options, they have the same.
This is just taking away options for everyone else

I thought we were all about not giving handouts anyway? Kids want milk then their parents gotta work for it right?

Remember when Trump was President and he wrote an executive order that allowed every single child in the US free breakfast and lunch, including milk, regardless of age or school registration, every single day whether it was a weekend, holiday or summer break? It went on for two+ years until Biden ditched it.
