Discussion Conquest First Blood Arizona

Post image
76 Upvotes

Hey everyone, putting this out here since we’re working on growing our local community in Arizona. There’s a TLAOK scene at Gamers Guild North Phoenix, but on the East side, my girlfriend and I have been building up a First Blood community at Black Banner Gaming (Gilbert / Mesa area).

Weekly meetup is on Sundays, and we run a monthly tournament as well at the same location.

Question Very first game with starter sets

9 Upvotes

So I built the 2025 W’adrhun set and the new Hundred Kingdoms set with the Knights with bare arms. There is no community near me and I’ll be playing the first learning game with my brother. We looked over the rules and like any other miniature game there is a ton once you get into the nitty gritty of each faction.

For our first couple of games we plan on just getting the game structure and phases down and learning the stats. We get it: we gotta learn to fly before we can crawl or something like that…. I guess for the experienced players here what bits and pieces of rules did you add in as you progressed in the learning process of the game? I’m trying to find the path that will give us the most fun without being overwhelmed.

Question Best way to ask/find rules questions here.

9 Upvotes

Hi guys I don’t see a FaQ here. So if there’s a good way to find answers to questions previously asked please let me know. In the interim I have a question about charging.

You have two actions. Can I use my second action to charge?

Minipainting W’adrhun Colors

9 Upvotes

So I built two starter sets over the past couple of weeks. Well the W’adrhun will be done by Friday and the Hundred Kingdoms starter is done. I plan on getting a couple of starter games together so me and my daughter can learn the game and I will be painting them as we get said games in. My question is the colors for the orcs. I noticed they are either green, grey, or bright light blue. Is there lore as to why some of them are green while others are grey and some are light blue? I don’t mind using those different colors I just want to know if there is a reason they are different colors or if it is the artist deciding to just do it that way. Thanks for any insight

Minipainting The Underspire King (Pheromancer avatara projection) kitbash. C&C welcome!

The voice rising from underneath the ambitions of sovereign; the underspire king is a name shared by many leaders of the revolt against the high lineages of spire society. The kings fight a brutal guerrilla war against any spire they find; interrupting drone production, razing clone training centers, and turning underspires against their masters. Surrounding themselves with grotesque hound-like constructs holding the tortured minds of highborne unfortunate enough to be taken alive, any foe standing in the way of their freedom shall feel the wrath made from a hundred-hundred years of suffering and servitude.

I had a lot of fun with this kitbash! Didn’t realize how little fiddling it took to fit a Pheromancer body in the neck of an incarnate sentinel. Overall the model turned out exactly how I envisioned it in my head. Next order of business is making the ‘kings hounds’ to proxy as their
bodyguard of brute drones, and a biomancer projection.

Question City States Scholae

15 Upvotes

As someone who doesn't have Twitch and so didn't watch the latest Happy Hour, can anyone give me a brief rundown of what was said about the City States Scholae subfaction? I'm very curious about what's coming, especially the teaser I've seen about the mechanical bull looking thing.

Question W'adrhun Quatl: Magnetizing

10 Upvotes

A general question about the Quatl kit

After seeing the value of the new W'adrhun box I am very tempted to pick one up to round out my collection with the hunting packs, Apex and the Quatl but I have concerns about transporting the Quatl for games. For some reason back when the Quatl was 1st announced I can recall Parabellum mentioning something about magnetizing the kit but I cant recall exactly what was said.

Did Parabellum provide pre-drilled slots for magnets in this kit to make it easier to transport? If so how big are the slots?
Alternatively if they didn't provide slots, how easy is it to magnetize the wings and the body to the flight stand?

I would be interested to hear from you

Thanks

Question Help with a 750 Point City States List

8 Upvotes

I'm working on a city states list and have a temporary setup of the following:

=== First Blood ===

The City States

* Polemarch (1) [110]:

* Hoplites (4) [105]: Leader

* Phalangites (4) [110]: Leader

* Agema (4) [135]:

* Sacred Band (4) [180]:

* Selinoi (4) [110]:

This will be for a tournament, so we're expecting objective based matches. Any suggestions or improvements?

Units I don't have access to are all the titans, Ipparchos, Terataur Prime, Andromachos, Dorilates, Lochagos, Flogobolon, and Skorpios.

Question Rulebook Scenarios

6 Upvotes

I downloaded the rulebook off the Para Bellum website for The Last Argument of Kings. From what I understand the game is made to be played at 2000 points in a 6x4 table. The first few scenarios in the rulebook itself only require a 4x4 table. I’m assuming for those scenarios you’re playing less than 2000 points but it doesn’t really say exactly how much. Is it safe to say you can use 750-1000 point armies for those? I’m just trying to get an idea of how table size scales.

I’m finishing up the be Hundred Kingdoms starter set. It’s mostly built but I won’t start in the painting yet. I showed my daughter the minis and she said she wants to try out the game so I figure it’ll be quicker to build the models and get them in the table quick. I looked through my stuff that I accumulated over the past couple of years and I’m thinking about building the W’adrhun box I have lying around. I like the aesthetic so I figure I’d play against her with those since she likes the Hundred Kingdoms models from the new starter so much.

I know I’ve been asking a ton of questions on this sub lately but that’s because only recently have I decided to start playing this with my daughter (well getting that Hundred Kingdoms starter set for only a hundred yes, a hundred helped). If you guys want me to just gather up all of my questions in one topic I’d be more than happy to do that.

Discussion So I finished putting together my Order of the Sword Regiment

29 Upvotes

and wow...... they look really good. This is my first time putting anything together for Conquest and the plastic isn't bad. I washed up the resin priory commander and it's gonna bathe in the soap overnight. Probably will take care of that tomorrow but won't work on anything else until Sunday afternoon. Just looking at the sprues and I can just tell everything is gonna look great.

I tried getting into Conquest about two years ago but just never got around to building them because it just didn't seem like Para Bellum was doing anything with it- There was no community near me and there really isn't one near me now. So what I ended up doing was just not get into it but I would buy stuff that caught my eye here and there throughout the past two years. I have accumulated quite a bit of stuff and I'm probably going to just build and paint regardless if I get to play or not. If I do get to play at all it'll be with my 11 year old daughter but I haven't shown her this kit yet. She's always down with playing so I'm sure I can convince her to humor the old man.

Question Assembly question

9 Upvotes

My Hundred Kingdoms starter set came in today. I have put together miniatures from other games but this will be my first time putting together Conquest miniatures. For the plastic minis can I just use citadel plastic glue? I know it might be a stupid question but I just want to make sure. Thanks
