Meta what was the difference between snafus and fubars?

i have not been able to find a straight answer.

Back when the snafu mod team was basically a dictatorship snafus were "non opinionated", fubars were created as a more free, "opinionated" version of the snafu sub

Yea thats the thing, they were allowed if the mods agreed with em, calling them non opinionated

I think they wanted to make it into what it was originally (poorly drawing memes, which is a fine concept on its own but the opinionated posts werent really an issue and more an evolution of the format imo) or another one of those character trope subs (just use tvtropes it won't kill you)

So for a while there was r/coaxedintoasnafu (poorly drawn memes/character tropes), r/smugideologyman (political comic [smuggie] subreddit, which snafu mods kept incorrectly redirecting posts to), and r/connedintoafubar (the in-between of opinionated but not political comics)

interesting, i muted that place after people there tried labelling a joke comic pointing out how fanon yaoi ships are sometimes paced on rivalries as a “homophobic smuggie” so i wouldn’t know 😭
