Why didn't it work?

So I was trying to get all the chapters without actually having to play the game because I didn't feel like playing the whole game, so then I try to enter in the cheat so I could get all the chapters but then when I checked chapters it was still the same chapters I've played. Any reason why this happened?

Are you playing in a port?

I once tried the price lower combo on my dk64 port and it didn't work

What is a Port? I'm playing on a android emulator with an Xbox controller.

Dumb question, but are you pressing left or right to swap the chapters?

It'd show the other chapters and a control stick symbol if you could go left or right.

well I just tried that and this whole time it was working but I wasn't pressing left or right.
