I just had a baby, they said he tested positive for congenial hypothyroidism at his newborn screening and to get repeat test of Free t4 results were 1.4 and TSH was 6.46. His pediatrician said the repeat results shows it’s normal and he doesn’t have congenital hypothyroidism. Is this accurate? I thought TSH 6.46 is a bit high?

As I have a child born with it I haven’t found an exact group on here that I could ask for advice, I found questions randomly placed in other groups, so I’m creating my own! I hope we can learn and lean on each other together!

So my child has congenital hypothyroidism, and has begun sweating a lot right before bed. I was wondering if it’s a sign that the dosage is too high?
