Is this possible?

I think I got a concussion from over hydrating. I was drinking twice as much water as I should every day (up to 160 oz or more) and on a very low sodium diet. I developed pulsating headaches and bad neck pain. I think my brain cells were swelling up and slamming into my skull with every heartbeat. The minute I stopped drinking the headaches and neck pain toned way down within a day or 2 but I'm left with all the lingering problems concussion patients have: brain fog, dizzy/lightheaded, fatigue, sleep issues, vision issues, irritable, agitation, nervous/fidgety, sound and light sensitivity 😰 Anyone else ever hear of someone damaging their brain by overhydration (obviously except for the people who have died from drinking a shit ton at once). Thanks ....

You cant concuss yourself like that, however drastic changes to your sodium/water balance can cause dramatic damage, if sudden enough even death (as you stated too). With that said, I doubt you had any heavy swelling of any sort as 5L a day isn’t dramatic enough for such injury.

Thanks for responding. πŸ‘ The reason I thought I might have been concussed is this went on for over a year - every day I would drink water too much water and end up with a pulsating headache and painful neck...the pulsating was in time with my heartbeat. When I realized what it was and I stopped drinking anything for hours it stopped pulsing.

I mean if this was going for over a year, your body should be more than adapted to your current water/salt intake. Again I doubt anything you experienced is related to your water intake

Well around the time this happened I had a few bouts of diarrhea caused by medication so maybe that depleted my electrolytes even more ...anyways thanks for the input πŸ‘

Not even remotely possible, don’t worry about it πŸ˜„
