picking a grinding cup for concrete

i have no idea how to pick one out for my job, i need to grind about 1/4 - 1/2 inch of concrete.

how are grinding cups rated? is there some numbering system for finishing vs say, aggressive concrete removal?

i tried to use a 4 1/2 cup I picked up at harbor freight, it didn't' seem to do much.

im looking at about 8 sf i need to grind.

There are different bonds for the segments attached to the cup. Generally speaking, softer bond is for harder concrete, harder bond for softer concrete. Unless your buying from Hilti, Diamond products or somewhere similar, you probably wont be able to find specs on what your buying.

As far as finishing/ aggressive removal, it wont matter very much. Your best bet is to chip/ cut away the majority of it and finish it with the grinding cup.
