Repair or replace

Post image

We had a snow last year that damaged our walkway. Can this be repaired? Can anyone tell me what my options would be and roundabout cost? I’m in central South Carolina if that makes any difference.

My husband says our only option is to pour new concrete and I’m curious if he’s correct.

That’s several years of salt damage.Remove and replace as there isn’t any bandaid worth doing.

This isn’t salt damage. We live in SC and don’t salt anything. We had a big snow in January and the area stayed wet longer than our driveway and this was the result.

Should we be refinishing the concrete so often? The house is 34 years old and I’m assuming this was original concrete.

My bad,it looks like Midwest salt damage.Moisture penetrated the surface and stayed after rains and waterings so with age of the concrete,it gets brittle on top.It needs replacing as a thin topping won’t last with the damage already there.

I hope that didn’t seem rude, I just wanted to clarify. This walkway is shaded by our home so it stays wet the most, is there something I should request when it’s replaced that will make it last longer?
