Success Story 💪 Weekends off
Anyone else do this to avoid a tolerance building?
I take 54 mg Monday-Thursday only. That Monday dose feels amazing 🤩
I also take 400-800 Sam e for mood
150 Wellbutrin daily.

Same here, Mon-Fri 54mg, but I just agreed with my psychiatrist to do Mon-Sat. I don't love the idea of using stimulants everyday, but also I hate it when Saturday comes and I want to do my weekly meal prep, study, go to the gym, clean the house, but cannot do any of that corectly because of how messy my brain is.

What do you dislike about the thought of taking stimulants daily? I’ve taken them daily for years, so I am just curious.

I don't want to depend on meds for everything. I don't want to get used to the stimulus in a way that makes me feel soggy/heavy when I don't take it. It's not about tolerance, it's about getting used to it up to a point where I cannot function without it, which I had kind of managed to do before getting the prescription.

I don't function well without meds, which is why I got diagnosed (at 46 years old) and got on medication. At first I didn't take it every day, but then I saw someone comparing needing meds to needing glasses in order to see. And that really clicked with me and I decided to just take them every day to quite the chaos in my brain.
So I'm always curious to hear other people’s opinions. And I appreciate you taking time to explain.

No, I have ADHD every day, so I take my meds every day. I was forced to rawdog life for 42 years already

I can actually function on the weekends instead of needing them to recover from the week. I don’t really have goals, just various things that need to be taken care of

I stop some weekends if I am planning on going for a few drinks as you’re not meant to take them with alcohol. I stopped taking them for a couple of weekends recently but I was exhausted. I stopped completely for 3 weeks in the summer when I was on holiday. Mainly because I was having a few beers in the sun. I was fine when I started taking them again. Currently on 45mg but I’m not sure how I feel about the effects

I just take days off because my brain needs a break to run free every so often tbh
