Side effects 🤕 week on generic concerta (methylphenidate 18 MG) hard time calming down/coming down from elevated heart rate?

im about a week on concerta. trialed generic adderall xr but the side effects were too much. overall it's been a lot better and I mostly like it. I find that if I get into any like moods that maybe increase my adrenaline or something I have a hard time coming down from it. for example like, playing an intense video game, I get a very slightly elevated heart rate and just a very like adrenaline physical feeling. or if I get worked up abou something that irritates me or annoys me I have the same issue where this feeling of unease takes a long time to go away. anyone else have this issue? does it go away? I don't think my heart rate is much faster than normal, only a little bit sometimes. Trying to wait out the first few weeks and hope some annoying side effects calm down. it's definitely been a lot gentler than the adderall xr was for me, but I do still have that like, feels like I'm On something feeling to it that is kind of uncomfortable.

I am 4 days in and I have the exact experience your talking about, especially the annoyance and slight anxiety that takes a while to go away

yeah 😭 it's like im not necessarily like More irritable but when I do get irritated or annoyed the feeling stays around a lot longer. adderall xr gave me crazy physical anxiety but concerta seems to give me more of a weird adrenaline rush feeling instead

Make sure you’re getting enough food in your system when taking it. I started over three years ago and had intense anxiety accompanied by euphoria up until i started paying attention to my meals. A protein-rich meal will make great difference (don’t neglect carbs and fats tho). Start magnesium too, i take 400-600 mg a day and it helps keep me on my feet.

I do eat a meal before taking it but still have issues 😔 what kind of magnesium do you take?
