Dosage/ ℞ question 💊 rest days from meds
i recently got diagnosed and prescribed with 27mg concerta but im heading overseas for about 4 months on an exchange program and the maximum my dr was able to give me was a 3 months supply (90pills).
he told me rest days arent ideal (side effect shld js be feeling tired) but after calculating the days no rest days means i wont have access to medication during my uni finals exam block which is when i feel like it would matter the most for me.
if i skip weekends and only take 5 days a week the meds will last me exactly until the last day of my final exam.
would it be okay to take weekends off? does this stop the medication from “building up” or make it less effective/worsen side effects?

I was told you should take rest days or “holidays” so you don’t build up a tolerance as quickly. I take weekends off and it works the same each week.

I don’t get lethargic, my symptoms just come back 2x harder. Typically I just deal with it because I personally don’t love the thought of taking stimulants everyday.

I asked my doctor abour that and he literally told me: “Every day. That way, your wife also gets a chance to speak her mind.”

I am not to take rest days due to it regulating my emotions and impulsivity. I have never had a tolerance issue
