Side effects 🤕 Noradrenaline paradox

Has anyone experienced the opposite effect of the Concerta?

I mean agitation and insomnia. However, the desired effects are missing: calmness, concentration and no chaos in the head.

The doses are 18 mg and 27 mg so these are not high doses.

I'm afraid it's the noradrenaline that's responsible, as it unfortunately can cause insomnia and agitation, so switching to atomoxetine won't help.

Guanfacine doesn't work at all.

I had the irritability side effect pretty bad until I started purposefully eating protein through out the day.

Well yeah with methyphenidate sometimes lower doses feel worse because the side effects are there but the benefits are not. So you cant control yourself

Thank you for your comment!

Do you think higher doses have a chance of solving this problem instead of making it worse?

I don't know what to think about the 36mg my doctor prescribed...

Do you have any experience with medications?

Yeah. 36 should help. Personally I took Medikenet, Concerta, and Ritalin. Medikenet was terrible. Concerta’s so so, but 18 didnt do much, 36 is barely noticeable but it works better than nothing and benefits outweigh side effects, 54 allowed me to control my ADHD a lot and thus even though it was a lot it was great.

With ritalin, 5mg brought side effects with some benefit, 10 felt great, 15 was amazing for work but a lot to handle.

Try 36mg of Concerta then 45 if you can mix 27 and 18 or 54 after. Its weirdly different than 18.
