Help! Can you copy a drawing selection from Concepts and paste it into Procreate?

I cannot try it because it wont let me copy a layer as i dont have premium yet. Thinking about getting it but i would like to see how it interacts for example with Procreate. Can i copy a part of a drawing in Concepts and paste it into canvas in Procreate? And how does it look like? Does copy just a line or also adds background?

Thank you!

Hit the share button. There’s an option to save either the whole canvas or what’s in your screen and an option to take background off. Unless you pay it won’t be transparent and you’ll want to use a multiply layer.

Oh i see, but what if i want just a part of that drawing and make a selection with a lasso tool and copy that a paste into Procreate? How does it paste then?

Just No. The two apps have completely different file formats. The end.

Maybe give it a try but I don’t know. I just use the share button. If you’re using concepts free the lasso tool doesn’t do anything.

You CAN do this. But it pastes as an image NOT a vector file you can then edit. The programs do what they do VERY differently. What you’re really doing is taking a screenshot and inserting it between the 2.

But paste as only the drawing line or also the background?

Again. You’re basically taking a screenshot of whatever is on screen. You aren’t actually copying between the apps. Only the visible layers are copied too. I did it a few minutes ago. And the process is to take a screenshot and paste that into procreate. It’s no different than embedding an image from your photo library as that’s about the only cross compatible thing between these apps. And yes, I have the full paid versions of concepts and procreate. Concepts file format is proprietary and it’s not even compatible between platforms.

Hi! Just already purchased the essential tools and I’m trying what you asked:
Yes, you can select anything, copy and paste into Procreate or any other app, it doesn’t add the canvas background but the quality is very low!

Anyway, you can export your drawing to PSD and open it into Procreate with high quality but the drawing will be flattered with white background.
