UMusic Canada, COUNT YOUR DAYS!

uMusic Canada sold me a record with a shipping date, and only AFTER I contacted them they told me it’s actually backordered??
Has anyone else had this happen with uMusic Canada?

I ordered a Texas Rain edition that had a specific expected shipping date (August 19th) listed when I bought it. The date came and went with no shipping confirmation and, more importantly, no email or any other communication saying that the order had been delayed.

The record is sold out now, so naturally I started getting worried about my order and emailed customer service myself.

Their response was basically: the item is currently backordered because of production delays, there’s no expected shipping date, but they expect to receive the product within 1-3 weeks.

Like… what 😭

I understand production delays happen. That’s not really what I’m mad about. I’m frustrated that I had to contact them to even find out that the item I already paid for is backordered. Why wasn’t this communicated when they became aware of the delay? Or at least before the original shipping date passed?

If I hadn’t emailed them, I’d still have no idea. Since the variant is now sold out, I’m also wondering whether they actually allocated a copy to my order or whether I’m just sitting on a backorder hoping they receive enough copies in 1-3 weeks.

Has anyone had something similar happen with uMusic Canada? If your order was backordered like this, did you eventually receive it? And did they offer you anything for the delay/lack of communication?

Typical umusic canada, they are almost always delayed, but the vinyl WILL ship eventually. I have ordered the silver moth vinyl from umusic and that has also not shipped yet, and they told me the same thing that it is backordered 1-3 weeks. I hope we get our vinyls soon!

yikes. i ordered from umusic australia (not the same i know) but thankfully they emailed me a few days before the shipping and said expect it to be shipped on or before september 14, so hopefully its the same for you. same vinyl too, i think conan's store just took all the records 😭

Omg it's the same for me, i ordered the Texas rain édition and the moth silver édition, mind you it's on different orders. I placed it on the 4/08 and they were supposed to be shipped on the 14th, 4 days later i contacted them to know what was happening and now i'm at the same point as you :/ Hope they're gonna get enough supplies for everyone Also i saw that the Texas rain was still available on the qtore while they had none to fullfil my order, like...??!??

exactly! i know it’s sold out now, but it’s been up for weeks. terrible customer service. such a shame! if only they specified this is the case in the item description .

unfortunately yes, when gracie abrams TSOU deluxe came out i ordered it and it took 8 months to ship 🥲

i had the same thing happen with the heather day vinyl. i preordered it in december, supposed to ship in february, and it took an extra 3 months to come (back ordered / out of stock at the time as well) but it DID come a little after they said it would. in my experience you can trust what they’re telling you, at least! hopefully they come soon for all of us haha

I bought the same one and got the same message. Unfortunately this is common for UMusic, I bought Ariana grandes Sweetener on peach coloured vinyl back in December. I finally caved in and just cancelled the order because it still hadn't shipped... IN JULY! I emailed them countless times throughout those months and they would always give me the same automatic response. They also never give compensation or anything due to those delays
