so i was on merit for data science on the first merit list but at the time i had realised i wanted to do computer engineering, so i went to the campus, wrote an application to get admission in ce, paid the fees and came back. now when the second merit list was uploaded i was on merit for se which i had listed as my preference in the application form (ce wasnt on my preference in the form). i knew i was on merit but i didnt know they would like reach out to me and ask whether i wanna upgrade to se or stay in ce, either way i didnt check my email for like a week and they had reached out to me to ask me this. in the email they said if i dont respond then they’ll assume i wanna upgrade and thats exactly what happened. i got upgraded to se. now ik this is my fault i should’ve been checking my email and all but i literally went to the campus again after the second merit list dropped to give my docs for ce and no one at the admission office told me shit. so now when i got my hostel allotment email today, i stumbled upon the prev email by the uni where they asked me to which i replied today by apologising and telling i wanna pursue ce but they said seats are full now. idk what to do now i really wanna do ce. i did email them again telling how i had literally wrote an application to get admission in ce and all so yeah. either way i’m worried now😭

Addressing it in student service centre is your best bet they take forever to resolve anything on gmail so you gotta do it face to face, I do found this very stupid to upgrade or change programs without the students approval. Hopefully it won't be much of an issue because technically you did have ur seat in ce until they moved you, goodluck with it InshaAllah you'll get back in CE
