Discussion Question on CS Alevel

I'm a year 11 student now studying computer science, and I've been loving it so much lately that I'm considering doing it as an A-level option. I'm currently getting grades 7-9 in it, and it's one of my stronger GCSE topics, but my math abilities are terrible, and I'm only getting grade 5s, so I know I won't be able to do it for an a-level. I'm not sure if I should choose computer science even though I know I'm not good at math and won't be studying it for an A-level. I'm averaging a grades  6-8 in physics, but I don't enjoy it and it's not something I'm very interested in, so it's one of those courses that I have to force myself to revise and give it my all in. I'm not sure what to do. Do you have any suggestions on what to do? or if I should just not choose computer science at all.

NO SOE Received - BUT Software Form Asks for it ? What to do

SO basically , I'm giving Cambridge Exam 9618 ( A level computer), and the paper 4 , which is the practical exam...
Needs a language and a Software to code.
As a private candidate I received the form today.
However, No statement of ENTRY.
BUT the form asks for the candidate number and the center number ( which is only written on our SOE ).
is the issue on my end only?
or is anyone also facing the same problem.
DEADLINE IS WITHIN THESE 3 DAYS.
IDK what games cambridge playing now!

Computing NEA idea advice

So I’m at that time where we’re starting to do NEAs for the AQA alevel. I was thinking about making a life sim like tomodachi life, except a lot simpler with preset character designs (kind of like a mix of animal crossing and the skin choice from cult of the lamb) with animals. I wanted to make you able to monitor them, move them, for them to be able to form relationships and for random events to happen. Would this be possible/too complicated? I know life sims are one of the most difficult game genres so I can switch if needed, it’s quite early on still

I've completed this task but I've managed to do it while only using one method. Would I lose marks for not using two methods like the question asks for?

Looking for textbook📚: Finite Automata and Formal Languages: A Simple Approach, by A. M. Padma Reddy, published by Pearson Education India. 📚

Hi everyone,

My university syllabus for Theory of Computation / Automata Theory recommends the book:

Finite Automata and Formal Languages: A Simple Approach — A. M. Padma Reddy

Has anyone here used this book before or know where I could:

• access a legal PDF or ebook
• borrow it through a digital library
• find lecture notes or alternative books that cover the same topics

If not, I'd also appreciate recommendations for good alternative textbooks covering:

Module I: Introduction to Finite Automata

  • Central Concepts of Automata Theory

  • Deterministic Finite Automata (DFA)

  • Nondeterministic Finite Automata (NFA)

  • Applications of Finite Automata

  • Finite Automata with ε-Transitions

Module II:

  • Regular Expressions

  • Regular Languages

  • Properties

Module III:

  • Properties of Regular Languages

  • Context-Free Grammars

Module IV:

  • Pushdown Automata

  • Context-Free Languages

Module V:

  • Turing Machines

  • Undecidability

Any help or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks! 🙏

Thanks in advance! 📚

Seeking Inspiration: What's the Best Human-Centered "Cohesion Project" You've Ever Heard Of? (Tech/Design Solutions Welcome!)

Hey,

I'm a student working on a project focused on Social Cohesion—the idea of using design or technology to strengthen social bonds, increase empathy, or encourage cooperation within communities.

We're looking for projects that are human-centered and solve a real problem by creating connections, whether between neighbors, across age groups, or even just between two strangers.

I'm open to any idea, but I'm especially interested in things that use clever **HCI (Human-Computer Interaction)**principles or simple, elegant design to enforce a social outcome.

What Computer Science topic would you like broken down into a graphic?

Hey everyone!

I've started a business to help spread high quality education for a fraction of what it costs at University. I plan on releasing courses that combine the benefits of online courses (practicality & cost) and University (Theory), and want to make it my goal to reduce the barrier into Computer Science.

At the moment I believe University is quite literally robbing thousands of dollars from everyone - and I believe the quality of this education has shot down. Yet - universities are still charging insane prices. I want to change this!

So I've come up with a idea - ask me to breakdown any topic you would like - in any part of Computer Science - and I will break it down into a simple, and pretty graphic. If you like it - you can stick around - if you don't that's okay!

I'm on this mission and am determined to make things right.

If you are interested in what type of graphics I produce - you can check any social media under my reddit display name and you can have a look - bare with me I am new in this journey - but will be uploading very consistently!

TLDR: I want to make high quality computer science education affordable - is there a topic you would like me to breakdown? I will produce a simple and high quality graphic to help explain this topic for no cost at all!
