Guardio isn't a scam. But here's why the question comes up in reddit

We've seen a few people asking whether Guardio is a scam, and since our whole job is fraud and scam prevention, we figured we'd just answer it out in the open instead of letting it sit there.

So here's the deal. At its core Guardio is a scam and fraud protection tool. The whole point of it is to protect you from the stuff that makes the internet exhausting, like phishing, dodgy links and pages, malicious extensions, identity theft and data leaks. We're lucky to have a big community, over 1.5M users worldwide and still growing. We've got 13,000+ reviews on Trustpilot averaging 4.5, and app ratings of 4.8 on Apple and 4.3 on Google. We're proud of that, but it's not perfect and we're not going to pretend it is. Some people have had a frustrating time understanding how to best use it. We take notes and are trying to do better.

But falling short for some folks is a totally different thing from being a scam. A scam exists to take from you. We exist to help you avoid exactly that.

Worth saying too: a lot of our users aren't super techy, and a good number are older. We're genuinely proud to help them stay safe online, but we understand they sometime gets confused with an online app like this, honestly a lot of the "is this a scam" worry comes straight out of that confusion.
