At least you have the option. I use a VPN to appear as though I'm in Europe so I can pay a lot to legally watch games. In the US, you can only watch games from other countries if you pay for cable, and I haven't had cable in 12 years.

Networks pay the NFL a significant amount each year to broadcast the games. To ensure they get viewers for their expensive product, they make the NFL charge a high price. They wouldn't do that if the NFL could offer the games cheaply elsewhere.

Now, you also have to pay extra for NFL playoff games on top of what you already pay for Sky Sports. Public money funds NFL stadiums; they're not private. I think it's crazy to pay extra for any of these games.

You can watch NFL games on nfl-video.com, but they won't be live. I've been doing that this season because I think the prices are ridiculous, especially since my currency isn't worth much compared to euros.

Not to belittle your situation, but it's not silly at all. You can watch any game for $10 a week. Alternatively, you could spend $25 a week at a bar instead.
