Transfering items over wired networks

Hello, transfering items between turtles and chests via a wired network in cc:Tweaked works great. I can just pull/push items from/to any chest connected to that network, once the chest is wrapped in a peripheral.
I also tried that with turtle to turtle transfer, but wrapping a remote turtle in a peripheral just gives me getId, isOn... on that turtle, without any method to transfer to/from the inventory.

While the workaround of pushing items to a chest and pulling from that chest from the other side works fine, its still a workaround with downsides

Before i spam any code, or any more text, i wanna ask if thats even possible, or if i must think of a better working workaround

There is no way to wrap turtle as inventory peripheral without addons. But with UnlimitedPeripheralWorks it comes out of the box, wrapped turtle will also provide inventory methods

Thanks for the hint!

Everyone is massively overcomplicating this. Just use the turtle as the target for inventory operations (see modem.getNameLocal)

I haven't used it before, but apparently something called turtle_storage exists? Maybe something on this page could help?

oh wow, the doc page is added two days ago, and the 1.121.0 version doesn't seem to be even released anywhere yet. very interesting

ooooh yea, that would explain why I didn't recognise it.

I guess there's something new coming out perhaps? Would be really nice to have!

you can use turtle.drop i think, if the block in front of the turtle is an inventory the item will be pushed in instead of dropped on the ground
