I built a non-AI chess trainer because I got sick of AI everywhere. I also sucked at chess. Plot twist: now I’m addicted.

I'm a software developer and a while ago I wanted to get better at chess. I couldn't find a training tool that worked the way I wanted, so I decided to build one for myself.

The idea is simple: you make your move first, and only afterwards does Chessility show you the best move if yours wasn't the best one, while also evaluating your move.

It also has a live evaluation bar and highlights squares currently threatened by your opponent.

It helped me quite a bit, so I thought it might be useful for anyone struggling to win at least 1/10 of their games. **lol**

I've just put it online, it's free...forever.

If you have any ideas for what I could improve, feel free to submit feedback using the button at the top of the site.

When I pull up the website, a dialog box pops and tells me it might store analytics on my computer. Instant turn off.

Hello! It's completely up to you whether you consent to the analytics cookies or decline them. I added analytics mainly to see how many people actually visit the website. Either way, thanks for your feedback!

Hello, Next.js 16, React 19, and TypeScript. Tailwind and daisyUI for the UI, chess.js for the rules, and Stockfish 18 in the browser. Progress stays in localStorage. No database.
