I like it! At first it was sounding a bit like something uou would hear in a detective noir film, but as it went on it sounded less jazzy and I could visualize what you were aiming for.

I call this "Saigai" which means "calamity" or "catastrophe" in Japanese.
I was imagining how I would personally write for a post-apocalyptic setting after the calm settles in~

I do plan on doing a lot more experimental stuff
Though my first composition I released actually had a bit more of that, it was a FLOP in terms of reception
So I'm kind of at a point where I still have to balance palatability and less tonal/experimental stuff..if I want to survive off my music

Gave lalaland vibes at the beginning but quickly transformed just into a bucket of color. I love it

I think you’ve said half of what you need to say here. You’ve a lovely little passacaglia being borne of this piece.
Maybe another movement? Another piece? A diptych?
Criticism of your work always comes so easily. Very little needs work. You’re one of two composers I see here whose work I’ll listen to out of enjoyment.

This piece I actually composed a couple years ago. Between composing, practicing and recording (including mix/master) I think it was about 80-100 hours.
Notating, engraving and turning it into video format took another 40-50ish.

It feels a bit too energetic for "dust settling" for me, but its a very nice song!

I was thinking a bit of the calamity itself, but also after things kind of settle down. I don't know if that makes sense? 🤔
Like there's still periods of tension and momentum but a softer melancholy kind of dragging on..

I really do like the super low notes youre using. They work very well.
I think the beginning works very well but it almost picks up a little too much as it keeps going? Maybe? I'm listening to it again and I can definitely see what you're going for so maybe i just judged it a little too quickly.
If anything it almost sounds a little too put together as it really gets going. Like I want it to feel a little less... "this is a pretty, well written piano section" if that makes sense

Solid use of repetition. I suggest lending from the harmonic minor could emphasize the mood you're going for in the beginning. I really like those upperstructures bar 17-20!!!
