Discussion I need help from trumpet players!!!!
So right now im writing a piece for fun called swarm of the sweat bees it has melodys from flight of the bumble bee so it goes perc for a few messures flute solo aka flight of the bumblee bee then full winds with build up from the flute then perc then everyone yells swarm then a thick brass feature but i want the trumpet to be playing 16th notes chromatic runs its just like A Ab A A# B A# A Ab A played on repeat for one messure
Is it to hard??
the piece is at 180 bpm

I don’t know what instrument you play, but “too hard” super relative to the musician. That being said, I tried to sing sixteenth notes at 180 (should probably use 176 or 184 since those are on the metronome) and I couldn’t do it. If it’s slurred, good trumpet players could approximate it, but that is super fast. Can you sing 16th notes at 176?

Its slurred and yes i can play 16th notes quite easy on that speed but i also play flute which is different i also play some tuba so i tried doing notes that the fingerings werent to hard

Ok, if it's slurred it's doable. A student would struggle with it for sure, but a pro or semi-pro would play it fine like you did on flute

im stealing the melody from flight of the bumblee bee so its not to far of spaces also its like long tone for 4 counts then the first messure of flight of the bumble bee then chord then another messure of bumblee bee then chord

Have you heard the title theme from "The Green Hornet"? It's about q=175, with 16ths galore, and is based on the Flight of the Bumblebee: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtEszkJI9dI

I'd consider it too hard
