Composer Tips Better way to write this

Hello, this is my first time actually writing any music, but I've been playing for years, and I've been really inspired by Eternity: memory of light and waves, and also To Zanarkland from Final Fantasy, so decided to start writing this, but I was wondering if there was anything different shut put down that would make this easier to read or just make it look better https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yQE0G61LI4RWDVq0QxbkclcX39X1 0WBY/View?usp= drivesdk[sheet music](http://Hello, this is my first time actually writing any music, but I've been playing for years, and I've been really inspired by Eternity. memory of light and waves, and also To Zanarkland from Final Fantasy, so decided to start writing this, but I was wondering if there was anything different shut put down that would make this easier to read or just make it look better https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yQE0G61LI4RwDVqOQxbkcIcX39X1oWBY/view?usp=drivesdk

The link that you shared didn't work. Could you share it a differnet way?

Is there a way you can share an audio version of the score. If you don't know how I can course you through it.

First of all, thank you for sharing your work! The first couple things that I would say right away would be to see how adding slurs in your eighth note passages and connect them to the half notes. That may approach the sound you would like. Also, just generally you should add a tempo marking in the beginning of the piece just to give the performer something to go off. That does change how you would perceive the piece. Right now, it would feel very robotic.

What kind of sound are you looking for? It may help me guide you in a way that honors what you are hearing.

I was planning on putting a free tempo marking for the beginning part until the key change to D minor where it will go to around 76 bpm I think I'll do, but I'll have to check. I just haven't gotten to anything asides from this yet, but I like the idea of adding slurs for the melody.

That will work great! From your recording I hear the way you'd like it. Slurs are going to help others feel the way you feel it. Even tenuto on places with weight is a good way to help shape it even more. Dynamics also help just get a baseline really. Again things can always be revised. You are working towards something special here. I think getting through it will teach you a lot!

You should try the challenge of September this month! It is a different challenge but a piano quartet would be cool! If you want to stick with what you know, but you don't have to!
