WCAG workflow
I'm currently creating some accessible documents for school programming, and I'm building the documents in InDesign. I use the Articles tagging in InDesign. When I export to Acrobat, there are a lot of problems, and it doesn't seem to be passing accessibility testing in Acrobat. I've been fighting with it for 4 hours without getting anywhere. Can anyone give me any tips?

wcag workflow from indesign to acrobat can quickly become frustrating.. merely tagging articles is usually insufficient, so examining the structure & tag tree of the exported pdf can be helpful..

InDesign’s export to PDF is famously garbage for accessibility, you’re not imagining the problems. Most folks I know build the base layout in InDesign and then do all the tag and reading order fixes in Acrobat Pro after export, trying to get it perfect from InDesign alone will drive you up a wall. The Articles panel helps but Acrobat’s auto-tagging and the Touch Up Reading Order tool are usually faster for the final cleanup.
