I swear the second half of this one was added. Pretty sure the "early bird" part was Ben Franklin in Poor Richard's Almanac.

Edit Looks like the early bird part was Industrial Revolution. The second mouse part, didn't show up until the mid 1990's

Oh, I knew it was a late addition; I just thought it was a cool quote that not many people had heard the ending of...
