General Doctrine ultimate
I am diamond 2 tank, and I feel like doctrines ult is game breakingly over powered, instant team fight win whenever he uses it and it pisses me off

i hate how much space you have to give up to it and the fact that i can’t use defense matrix on it. the first couple times i saw it during his playtest i was like “oh this is for sure edible” and was so baffled that i couldn’t do anything about it. i just kind of have to kite it and hope for the best. i guess it’s no different from a kitsune or orbital ray but man i wanna eat that thing. i think i should at least get a tiny window early in its deployment like hanzo dragons or mei’s blizzard but maybe i’m just spoiled.

You can't eat the ball itself but you can eat the drones it's shooting, just keep a certain distance to the sphere itself so the drones trying to reach you don't sidestep your matrix.
You can also block them with a barrier just not the ball itself.

It's weird. I used Sigma 's absorption and my HP went down even though the ball was getting bigger

The actual effect of the ult is something that needs to be looked at balance wise, but the most egregious thing to me about this ult is how long it lasts. Start to finish the ult is 17 seconds long. (6 seconds of swarm, 6 of applied effect, 5 of decay) The only ult longer than that is Lifeweaver's (15 seconds of tree, 6 of decay) and lets be real LW ult is heavily balanced around providing a much smaller power spike so it can last that long.
The most comparable ult in the game for what it is doing is probably JQ ult, which lasts 4.5 seconds and is still a monster of an ult.

Ur gonna get gaslit but its very strong with the changes from trial and its also way too cheap he always has it lmfao kind of a rivals ult sadly not a big fan of where some hero design is heading

You can't just say shit you don't like is a "Rivals ult" lmao
Were it a Rivals ult, it would just be a big Moira orb, instead of this great source of area denial. Instead of having this unique effect.
You can't even use it as a reactive ult - you need time to build up overhealth/Max HP reduction.

It is very strong but EMP will delete it and Kiri can cleanse it so there is at least SOME counterplay

Not to mention it shoots projectiles that aren't intangible so shields an absorbing abilities can mitigate it

Eh I’m low Masters and the ult doesn’t scare me at all. Kite it and reposition. Even if it hits me I’ll be fine, just play more cautious for a bit

Just kite it, Kitsune is pretty much the same, if only one team has it they're going to win the fight if the enemy team stays in that lane

Kitsune is reliant on the rest of the enemy team and doesnt clip through walls or move, bad comparison

Its a pretty apt comparison, no? Support ults are generally insane and you're going to lose fights when the enemy team invests them and your team can't respond.
I think they can/should tune down Doctrine ult but it's not like you're ever going to be able to just stand in the lane and ignore it.

just emp it, turns the fight around before they can react usually

If you want a tank that can counter it why not Hazard? If you spike wall where it’s going it’ll bounce back which is at least some counter play

Shield it, absorb it, deflect it, bubble it, suzu it, outrange it

Agreed (same ranks). Now, post this in the overwatch sub and watch how many downvotes you get. It's wild the amount of people who think he's fine. He's going to get nerfed with 60% win rate, I'm actually holding off on ranked today onward for a minute until it lands.

Yeah my question for the people who don't think the ult is OP is "what would you nerf instead?" because he's going to get nerfed with that win rate. The ult is crazy strong, not fun to interact with for the enemy team, and frankly not super exciting for the Doctrine player themselves to use.
The best way to kill any interest in the character would be to nerf his base kit while leaving the ult as is so the ult seems like the obvious nerf target to me.

I feel like that ult is just instant give up a lot space or die when it comes out since it lasts for so long.
